Liberty vs. UNC

by Nick Johnson

UNC beat Liberty 14-1 in their exhibition Thursday night in Chapel Hill. UNC had 11 hits and 6 pitchers held Liberty to two hits.

Offensively, UGA transfer Parks Harber (SR) continued a big fall with two hits, including a 2 run homer. The 6’3 3B hit 18 bombs for Georgia last year and will play a key role in UNC’s offense.

5th year Quinnipiac transfer Anthony Donofrio had a nice night with two singles. Donofrio is a really interesting add coming off a season where he absolutely mashed slashing .364/.432/.684 with a 1.116 OPS and 37 XBH!! Oh yea he also stole 31 bags.

Prized FR catcher Luke Stevenson continued to impress with two hits of his own.

RS SO Casey Cook added a 2 run homer and finished with 3 RBI’s.

On the mound 5th year SR RHP Jake Knapp went 2 innings while striking out 3. Knapp sat 93-94 T5. Ben Peterson (SR) and Folger Boaz (FR) each threw two innings with two K’s. Freshman Jason DeCaro, Boston Flannery and Olin Johnson each threw and didn’t yield a hit.
